Splendid Mummer

Splendid Mummer  by the late Lonnie Elder  directed by Malcolm Frederick and the Ira Aldrige Bicentenary Project presented

'Splendid 'Tour de Force',  Ira now lives on  in all our  lives in this splendid collaboration of living history  with a stellar acting of home grown talent  featuring Earl Cameron, Rudolph Walker,   Burt Caesar, Victor Romero Evans, Donna Croll, Angela Wynter, Ray Fearon,   Joseph Mydell   DannyTony-Jules.. and much more. Beautifully interweaved with eye witneess accounts of Ira's life , reflections on a life lived to the full, which included reviews of productions and some modern questions for our time , rekindling the poetic and moving story of Ira Aldrige, at the Old Vic where he once played.'

Thanks for bringing hope and history  to us all in 2007, our lives were truly enriched and life affirmed from this production. This is a truely educational and historical project bringing great talents and  practitioners  of  African and Caribbean History , Theatre and Art together.

To the Ira Aldridge Bicentenary Project   long may  this production have an international run.

 thanks mia
