Drama Queens and Kings of Confidence

‘Confidence is King’ (or Queen) for families at Sutton House this February half-term with brilliant dramateur Stuart Bowden.

‘Drama Queens and Kings of Confidence’ Family Sunday shows how Sutton House, in Hackney, is listening to what families want from FREE museum events.

Who?

On Sunday 27th February 2011 Stuart Bowden brings international performance experience from work with the National Theatre, Punch Drunk and much more to families visiting Sutton House. Using imaginative and playful master classes families will have a great time developing their confidence and communication skills.

local families were asked what are the best activities Sutton House could offer as part of its family activities. All the families said ‘building confidence is great for children’s development and for their families’.

When?

Throughout 2011 Sutton House has put the wishes of local families first; with a year long programme of enjoyable, high-quality, FREE activities (please contact Chris whose details are below for more information).

What else?

The theatrical 500 year old chambers, halls and cellars of Tudor mansion Sutton House in Hackney will be incorporated by Stuart into this confidence increasing activity. Outlandish historic costumes, props and stories from the house’s heritage will also help families develop their communication and confidence skills. Volunteers will also encourage families enjoy discovering toy treasure chests, art games and much more.

Naomi Hutchinson, Custodian of Sutton House says, “I’m delighted about Sutton House’s full programme events for 2011. This Family Sunday is the launch of some of the best events Sutton House has ever hosted.”

The day is part of a series of a programme of Free Family Sundays held at Sutton House throughout the year. Family Days are for the local community; everyone is welcome to take part in creative activities, games and trails for free. They are dynamic, vibrant, inspiring and happen on the last Sunday of every month from 12:30-4pm.
