We have the privilege of being part of the events team for four significant events , don’t forget that event organising and programming forms a cornerstone of our busy consultancy and indeed partly subsidises the website.
We kicked off the year by supporting our client the Black Cultural Archives with three important events remembering the founder Mr Len Garrison whose bust was unveiled to capacity crowds at Lambeth Town Hall 18th February . The sculpture created by his best friend George ‘Fowokan’ Kelly will be available for all to see when the Black Cultural Archives moves into its new home at Raleigh Hall in its 30 year of operation November 2011. View this film made by Fowokan, "The Making of Len Garrison".
Incidentally we have been volunteers for the organisation for a number of years , we work with them as a client and we now have become a friend. As we want to get behind the organisation at this crucial juncture to ensure that the dream of a National Heritage centre Raleigh Hall at the improved and revamped Windrush Square Brixton the Caribbean spiritual home. becomes a reality. You can become a friend by visiting the organisation's website www.bcaheritage.org.uk . Perhaps you might organise events and activities on their behalf.

Dvd of the month TEN PERCENT
by actor Tony Mc PHerson
Just released DVD tells the film of lucrative deal surrounding Joe Louis’ first heavyweight title win.
He was one of the greatest boxing heavyweights of all time successfully defending his title 25 times for more than ten years. But early on in his career Joe Louis found himself up against an unofficial colour bar that had kept black boxers out of title contention.
Twenty years earlier, Jack Johnson’s reign as the first black heavyweight champion had outraged white America and even led to race riots. But in the murky world of boxing, the colour of money works wonders. Louis secured his first shot at the richest prize in the sport by agreeing to a deal that kept the man he defeated – James Braddock – in clover for the rest of his life.
