THE PAN AFRICANISTS
Forward by Kofi Anan reviewer imani

Who and what are Pan Africanists?
As defined by Sylvester Williams in the 1900’s  -  A formal linking of Afrikans worldwide on the basis of cultural/racial consciousness.
Drawing Barrington Watson
Published by Randle Publishing

For people not familiar with the philosophy of the Pan Afrikanists this is a profitable read.  Outlined in a series of essays, illustrated by ‘;paintings’ of the principals, it is easy and pleasant to read. Children can read an essay at a time and find out about these people who had such a strong feeling about Afrika and advocated continuous contact , identification and cooperation. Afrocentric, you could say. The  17 essays are succinct and tell you all you need to know at first sight. Many of the names are familiar, Sojourner Truth, George Padmore,  CLR James, Frederick Douglass, additions of ‘latter day’ Pan Afrikanists .

Mohammed Ali, Martin Luther King, deservedly so for they spoke in one voice as their predecessors and with as much spirit.  This volume is well produced and would make an ideal gift for a god-child or even a teacher of Black children. For, many of these people were intellectuals, something not often welcomed in the host community.
