Child Profile: Idman
Idman is of African /Somalia, muslim heritage and was born August 2006. She is a happy, fun loving child who is usually smiling. She is the youngest child from a sibling group of six children. Unlike her siblings Idman has never lived with her birth parents, instead, she has been in the same placement since birth and has formed a good attachment to her carer.
Her carer describes her as a strong willed child who knows her own mind. She loves music and dancing but also really enjoys sitting alone quietly with a picture book. Idman loves playing with her toys. Her favourite toy is a talking ‘Winnie the Pooh’, which she will spend a lot of time playing with while sitting in her very own chair.
Idman is a sociable child who loves to be around other children. She enjoys exploring her surroundings and is especially enthusiastic about outdoor activities. Her carer says that Idman learns quickly and is already building up a good vocabulary. She is a healthy child who has reached all her developmental milestones.
It is proposed that there would be annual direct contact between Idman and her siblings after she is placed in her permanent placement. It is also proposed that there would be letterbox contact with her birthmother on anannual basis.
Family Needed: A one or two parent African/Somali, African, African-Caribbean family
