Jerome who is of African Caribbean ethnicity was born in October 2002.
He is an engaging boy who wants to play with other children but struggles in terms of his language development and social skills. He is waiting to be formally assessed as his development may fall within the milder end of the autistic spectrum. At the moment he plays alongside other children. He particularly enjoys sand and water play and small cars, trains and toy animals. He also wears glasses for a degree of poor vision.
He has formed a positive relationship with his carers and their sons who enjoy playing with him. He is described by his foster carers as a sociable, happy child who is full of smiles. Jerome doesn’t present with any challenging behaviours at the moment; being a relatively easy child to care for. He will eat a varied diet and sleeps well through the night. Jerome has some special educational needs and may require support with this.
Family needed: Long Term Foster Carers with good support networks who can offer Jerome a permanent placement and meet his long term needs.
