The BBC UK BLACK podcast offers a unique snapshot of contemporary Black Britain.
It features excerpts from the 45 hours of African and Caribbean programming broadcast weekly on BBC Local Radio, includes a range of voices from the English Regions and shifts the focus from the urban youth agenda.
The specialist shows run on fourteen stations from Merseyside to Suffolk and are diverse in style and content with the majority being speech based and community focussed while others offer music, entertainment, arts and faith based programming.
The twenty minute podcast, which will be available for download every Monday afternoon will feature a mix of items chosen to represent the diversity of issues and events that have had Black Britons talking during the previous week.
Listeners can find the full interviews from which the excerpts are taken by going to www.bbc.co.uk/england/ukblack or find out more about podcasts and how to subscribe and download them at www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/ukblack.
