A big thank you to all the people who took part in the focus groups. We really appreciated your feedback - it gave us much food for thought and helped us to refine our proposals. The exhibition will:

  • Be primarily about the experiences of people from the Caribbean, but will also include information on other black people in the UK
  • Focus on personal stories
  • Cover the time period 1914 to the arrival of SS Empire Windrush (1948)
  • Deal with negative experiences but focus on positive stories and role models

We are continuing to work with the Caribbean community, particularly young people, and are exploring the best ways of building local/regional partnerships. Our marketing plans will be firmed up in the coming months. The exhibition must have a lasting legacy throughout the Museum.
