Bigga Fish is seeking to commission a film from the documentation of a 10
day residential program of African and UK Musicians and subsequent live
events dates.
We have an exciting and innovative new collaborative project involving UK
based and African musicians that needs to be filmed and produced into a
documentary that can also be spliced into episodes.
Please read through the attached project brief to gain a fuller
understanding of the complexity and scope of the project.
The main body of the production will be filmed during a ten day
residential course and then four London performance dates expected to take
place in May.
We require a motivated and innovative production team capable of capturing
the dynamic creative process, the intricate educational potential and
interpreting and recording the interaction between the artists. The
project requires a developed element of cultural sensitivity and a novel
approach to capture the urban as well as traditional elements of the
collaboration. Accurately recording the fusion of musical techniques and
presenting this unique and original material in a groundbreaking
production is the ultimate goal.
The result we want to see achieved is the creation of a high quality,
cutting edge production that can be put forward for selection in
international film festivals (best categories to be suggested), used an
educational tool released on DVD, the possibility of cinematic release, TV
broadcast, spliced episodes for internet/TV broadcast. The film must
appeal to a broad international audience whilst maintaining a gritty,
urban feel.
We have a total budget of £4000 that needs to go a long way. Due to the
nature of this landmark project, the anticipated press coverage and
guaranteed national exposure we are sure that the production will project
our media partners towards new recognition and levels of achievement. We
intend to forge an ongoing partnership with the successful applicants to
continue to deliver high calibre productions and multimedia projects in
conjunction with our ongoing and future ventures.
